I work in the Information Security industry. I share articles about that which I am learning and experiences of what I encounter on the path to more success in this new and growing industry.
I am currently gainfully employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana. I currently help the business work with technology-related risks. I have had an unending passion for technology ever since I was a child, which has slowly led me down the path of Information Security. I love learning how things work, from automatic transmissions and combustion engines to SQL injections and astrophysics. There is always something new to learn.
I am a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), because one of the best ways to defend from attacks is to know how attackers think and understand their methods in-depth. But, I also understand that Information Security is not only about tracking the latest threats or knowing the difference between a reflected cross-site scripting attack and a persistent cross-site scripting attack. It is also about managing risk, maintaining integrity, protecting confidentiality, and assuring availability. I feel as though every business with information systems has a need for a security professional, but often does not realize it until it’s too late.
